Endurance Test Results & Photos

Endurance Photo 2010

The Tasmanian Dog Training Club held their annual Endurance Test today at Longford in the states north. The weather was not kind with 20mm of rain falling overnight and continuing during the morning it was tough going. Thanks to our pacesetter Sean and Google street view he planned a new course in the wee hours of the morning to incorporate more sealed roads for the riders but still allowing the dogs to run on the grass and gravel edges. The grass & gravel that was ridden on was very testing for the competitors. We had 10 entries with 10 passes.

The big news of the day was Rae Lindsay and her Borzoi, Ch. Russkimir Swedish Viking aka George co owned and bred by Margaret Davis who became, to the best of our knowledge, the first Australian Borzoi to obtain an E.T. title. Huge congratulations to Rae, Margaret and George on this great achievement.

Also a big thanks to the Judge Mr Peter Hofto for judging in trying conditions and to Dr Roger Blackwell (Veterinarian) for his work during the day checking all dogs at  each stage of the test assessing their condition and fitness to continue.

Endurance 11/7/2010

Submitted by Angela Fry (not verified) on Tue, 27/07/2010 - 07:05.

What a great event congrats to all & their loyal champions.

Many thanks to TDTC for an excellent day.

With special thanks to vet Roger Judge Peter Sean Shane Allan Kendall & all who helped organise a very successful enjoyable day.

Which I will highly recommend to one & all.

Phoenix was still full on after, wanting to go again, so what endurance.
Gave him a spa then we went off tracking, no slowing down an all rounder. Ha Ha

Our dogs never seem to run out of energy, this event proves what they have been bred for is what the dogs of today can still do, to this very day.  Endure.

The TDTC is a well run organisation with all involved going out of their way to assist one & all.  No bitching.

They are a credit to the TCA

Many thanks to all Angela & Phoenix (the rottie)
